Like many of the Iceland Gulls of this winter's invasion into north-western Europe, this big 2nd winterbird was clearly hungry and showed little fear of me. Almost Glaucous Gull-like in character, I assume from its size that it was a male bird.
Half a slice of brown in one go, if I remember correctly! We'll get them, I'm sure, but I'm not confident about big numbers. I have my fingers crossed for some NW winds followed by NE - that might work for us...
Anyway, I think I'll have a look at Alnwickhill tomorrow...

Brilliant "gobbling" shot, what is it, bread? Maybe we have been too quick off the mark in looking for them, they must still be coming to Lothian...
