Hybrid Carrion x Hooded Crow again

Here is a hybrid Carrion x Hooded Crow photographed in Liberton recently. It is probably one of the two individuals seen over the last couple of years in the area. It appeared to be intent on picking small pieces of blossom from the gutter.

Also, who could resist the fantastic looks of a de-pigmented Carrion Crow for good measure?

Perhaps this is my old friend which frequents Mount Vernon Road? Noted there again this week at Nellfield entrance - where first seen March 2005 nest building with a Carrion Crow, in tall trees by Nellfield entrance. Only missed it in spring 2006*. Never seen any evidence of successful breeding but it has had at least 7 years opportunity to produce further hybrids. Plus I only arrived here summer 2004 so it may have been there a few years previously too...

Yes, it was on Kingston Av which as you'll know is a continuation of Mt Vernon. I haven't checked the flight shots of this one and the two that I saw up near Tower Farm/Alnwickhill - I'll let you know.
